Tests on Friday

Friday we will be having a Science test and a Spelling test. Fifth graders received a study guide today for the Science test. Please study!!! Report cards will go home next week.

Awesome dioramas!!

Wow! You all did a great job on the dioramas! I am very impressed and I should have your grades ready by tomorrow. What creative kids we have in 5th grade! Here are some pictures of a few biome dioramas.

SCIENCE PROJECT---biome diorama

We have a very important project coming up in Science. Students have been assigned a biome diorama. They must choose one of the eight biomes and create a diorama out of a shoebox and other supplies. Students were sent home Wednesday with a hand out explaining the project. The dioramas are due Friday, October 16. Have fun completing this project and remind the kids to be creative!!

Week of October 5-9

Hello!! This is our week for cafeteria workers and safety patrol. My cafeteria workers this week are Jassmine, Dylan, and Steven. Safety patrol is Maggie, Sarah, Kaylee, and Logan.

Students have a Social Studies test on Tuesday in Mr. Knox's class.

We are studying biomes in Science and I will be handing out project guidelines on Wednesday. Each student needs to choose a biome and create a diorama. These dioramas will be due Friday, October 16.

Week of September 21-25

Here are some things we are working on this week!

Science- We are starting a new chapter and learning about the water cycle, carbon cycle, and nitrogen cycle. We will be doing a water cycle activity on Friday. Be sure your child has vocabulary words written down in his/her Science notebook.

Language- We are learning about main ideas and supporting details in paragraphs.

Spelling- Here is the Spelling list. Our test will be Friday.

Changes!!

Hi there! This blog has undergone a bit of change this year! It is no longer the blog for 7th and 8th grade computers, but is now the home of Mrs. Pruitt's fifth grade class! I made a transition across the building and I am now teaching fifth grade homeroom and fifth grade Science. For those of you in my homeroom class, I will be teaching you Science, Spelling, and Language. For those of you in Mrs. Albrecht or Mrs. Pohlman's class, I will be teaching you Science.
