Science explore activity

In Science today, we did an Explore Activity that helped us understand how clouds form. Our experiment worked out great and the students did a great job observing and analyzing our results.

This is a very simple experiment that you can do at home. For this experiment you will need the following items: hot tap water, two identical clear containers, mug, and ice cubes.

Procedure: Chill container 1 by putting it in refrigerator or on ice for about ten minutes.

FIll a mug with hot water. Be careful handling the hot water!!

Fill container 2 with the hot water. Place empty cold container 1 upside down on top of container 2 with the water. Fit the mouths together carefully. Place the ice cubes on top of container 1.

Record your observations.

WHAT DID YOU OBSERVE??

Week of November 2

Hope everyone had a great Halloween! I can't believe it is November already! This week, we are studying the phases of the moon in Science, working on adverbs and pronouns in Language and we are also doing some journal writing. We are now in the second quarter, which means we have a new AR goal to meet. Our AR goal for the quarter is 15 points. Please encourage your child to reach their goal so they can take part in the AR reward for second quarter.

Also, I would like to have less late homework warnings in class this quarter. Please check your child's planner at night and make sure that their homework assignments are completed before returning to school the next day.

We have a Spelling test on Friday. Your child should have their Spelling words written in his/her planner. We practice the everyday, but it is also helpful if they practice them at home. Our words for this week are:
